FUNCTION FIRST, THEN PERFECT AESTHETICS!

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are one of the most reliable solutions when it comes to restoring damaged, weakened or aesthetically unsatisfactory teeth. In our practice, we often witness how many endodontically treated teeth are unnecessarily extracted due to fractures that could have been avoided if the tooth had simply been timely protected with a crown.

They are indicated for:

  • Reconstruction of broken, worn or damaged teeth
  • Improving the appearance of discolored or irregularly shaped teeth
  • Protecting endodontically treated teeth from fracture

Our goal is not only to restore the functionality of your tooth, but also to create a smile with which you feel confident, natural and satisfied - every day.

Types of dental crowns

The choice of the right crown is not universal - what is best for one patient may not be best for another. That is why we approach each patient individually and together we choose the material that best suits your aesthetic and functional needs.

  • Full zirconia crowns - extremely strong, biocompatible and aesthetically superior to metal-ceramics in every aspect. We often choose them precisely because they provide a great balance between resistance and natural appearance - whether for front or back teeth.
  • Metal-ceramic crowns - crowns that were the gold standard for the last 50 years are reliable, long-lasting and very functional. Aesthetically, they are not at the level of zirconia, so today we use them only in rare cases that require larger brigde spans.
  • Full ceramic crowns - the most common choice when aesthetics comes first, and the tooth underneath has not changed color or is supplied with a metal post that needs to be "hidden". Ceramic crowns made of lithium-disilicate ceramic have the distinct property of "transparency", they transmit light and their natural appearance is difficult to distinguish from the real tooth.

In our practice, about 90% of dental crowns are made of full zirconia, which ensures superior precision thanks to modern digital protocols. Due to the exceptional advantages it offers, we have almost completely moved away from the use of metal-ceramics, whenever the case allows. In order to make this superior material accessible to patients, we have adjusted the prices of full zirconia to become more accessible, which has further facilitated the decision to choose a higher quality and longer lasting choice.

The tooth crown placement process

  1. Review and planning

Everything starts with a detailed review and discussion. We get to know your wishes, analyze the condition of your teeth and tissues, and suggest solutions that are in line with your needs. We believe that the best results are achieved with transparent communication, which is the foundation for long-term trust.

  1. Tooth preparation

The tooth is carefully prepared to create a solid and stable base for the new crown. Whenever possible, we try to preserve as much natural tooth tissue as possible - precision is the key in this step.

  1. Taking an impression-scanning

We have moved from standard silicone impressions to precise digital impressions.

Digital impressions are made using an advanced 3Shape scanner, and the process itself takes only 20-30 seconds. For patients, the procedure is quick, simple and much more pleasant than the traditional impression. The advantage of this technology lies in the high precision which reduces the risk of human error when scanning and digitally designing crowns in the dental lab.

  1. Temporary crown

While we wait for the permanent crown, we install an aesthetic and functional temporary version. We know how important it is to feel comfortable and carefree even during that transition period.

  1. Prototype crown test

During this visit, we test the printed prototype of the future crown. The precision of the fit, the shape of the crown and the accuracy of the bite are checked. All corrections are made to the prototype, which is scanned again briefly so that the laboratory can transfer all changes and eliminate any imperfections before milling the final crown.

  1. Permanent crown insertion

Since we made all the necessary adjustments during the prototype fitting, your permanent crown fits perfectly on the prepared tooth. If we are also satisfied with the aesthetics, we precisely cement it and the procedure is complete!

Our ultimate goal? To make you look and feel as if you have always had that exact tooth.
